Category: Device Management, Vendor: Allied Telesis

Description: Reports the version identifier and release date of the MIB suite currently running on Allied Telesis network devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is AT-MIBVERSION-MIB?

This is an Allied Telesis private enterprise MIB used to report the version and release information of the Allied Telesis MIB suite running on a given switch or router. Rather than exposing hardware sensors or traffic counters, it exposes housekeeping/configuration-style data: the identifier and release date of the bundled MIB set supported by the device's AT software. Its main monitoring value is confirming software status and compatibility, since management stations use it to verify which version of Allied Telesis MIBs (and by extension which firmware release) is running, a basic software version check rather than a hardware health check. It has no explicit dependency on other MIBs beyond the standard SNMPv2-SMI framework used to define its objects. It is typically deployed across Allied Telesis switch and router product lines as a small companion MIB polled during inventory or compliance audits. Engineers can download the AT-MIBVERSION-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AT-MIBVERSION-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Allied Telesis switch
  • Allied Telesis router

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll the MIB version and release-date objects described in the module to confirm that a given Allied Telesis switch is running the expected MIB/firmware revision before applying automation scripts that depend on specific OIDs. A mismatch between the expected and reported version would flag a device that needs a firmware/MIB upgrade before other AT private MIBs can be trusted to have the expected object set. Since no sample objects were provided, only the version/date scalars described in the module description are being referenced here.

What Can Be Monitored
