All MIBs › AT-CAPABILITIES
Category: SNMP Framework, Vendor: Allied Telesis
Description: Defines SNMP agent capability statements for Allied Telesis devices, advertising supported MIB object sets.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is AT-CAPABILITIES?
AT-CAPABILITIES is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module published by Allied Telesis for its managed switches and routers. Rather than exposing runtime data itself, it declares which object groups and MIB features a given agent firmware image actually implements, letting management stations discover supported capabilities before polling. It has no live counters, tables, or traps of its own; its only role is compliance/discovery metadata for other Allied Telesis MIBs. It depends inherently on the specific product MIBs it references (bridge, interface, VLAN, or other AT enterprise modules) since its statements are meaningless without them. It is typically consulted by NMS platforms as an AT-CAPABILITIES reference during initial device discovery or MIB-compatibility checks rather than in ongoing monitoring.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AT-CAPABILITIES. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Allied Telesis managed switches
- Allied Telesis routers
Monitoring Examples
Because this is a pure AGENT-CAPABILITIES module, there are no monitorable runtime objects to poll or graph. An NMS would instead read this module once during discovery to determine which AT enterprise MIB groups a particular switch firmware version supports, then decide what other MIBs it can safely query. There is no realistic scenario involving polling counters or watching for anomalies here.
