All MIBs › AT-CAPABILITIES-MIB

Category: SNMP Framework, Vendor: Allied Telesis

Description: Provides SNMP agent capabilities declarations for Allied Telesis network equipment product families.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is AT-CAPABILITIES-MIB?

This is a vendor-specific AGENT-CAPABILITIES MIB from Allied Telesis declaring which SNMP MIB modules and object groups are implemented by specific Allied Telesis product families and firmware versions. It is a conformance/capabilities module, not a data-bearing MIB, so it does not itself expose interface, environmental, or performance data. Its role is to let a management station determine in advance which monitoring objects (hardware status, performance counters, etc.) a given Allied Telesis device firmware actually supports before polling for them. It inherently depends on the AGENT-CAPABILITIES construct from SNMPv2-CONF and references the actual data MIBs it declares support for. It is used across the Allied Telesis product line as part of standard SNMP agent self-description for management-station compatibility checks. Engineers can download the AT-CAPABILITIES-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AT-CAPABILITIES-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Allied Telesis network equipment (all supported product families)

Monitoring Examples

This is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module with no runtime data objects, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe honestly; it only declares which MIB groups and objects a given Allied Telesis agent implementation supports. A management station would consult it to decide whether to bother polling certain optional object groups on a given device/firmware combination.
