What Is ASCEND-MIBTRAP-MIB?
ASCEND-MIBTRAP-MIB is an Ascend proprietary MIB that defines the common SNMP trap/notification structure and parameters used across the broader Ascend equipment MIB suite, rather than a MIB carrying its own monitoring data. It exposes shared trap OIDs and associated varbind conventions used by other Ascend MIBs to signal events. It is used indirectly for hardware/software status monitoring in the sense that it standardizes how the fault and status-change events raised by other Ascend MIBs (e.g., card failures, APS switchovers) are structured and delivered as SNMP traps, rather than exposing pollable device state itself. It underpins essentially every other ASCEND-MIB-* module that issues notifications. It was deployed on any Ascend WAN access equipment running the broader Ascend MIB suite. Engineers can download the ASCEND-MIBTRAP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
