Category: Alarm and Event Management, Vendor: Juniper

Description: Defines conformance statements for the event manager and event scripting functionality on Juniper Networks E-series platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is Juniper-Event-Manager-CONF?

This is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module for Juniper's E-series family describing which objects and groups of the Event Manager/event scripting MIB the SNMP agent implements on that platform. It defines no managed objects of its own; it exists solely to state implementation coverage for the event manager/scripting feature, which lets the router run scripts in response to defined events. As a conformance statement it exposes no runtime hardware/software status directly — monitoring of actual event-manager behavior would come from the underlying event-manager MIB it describes, not from this module. It explicitly depends on the underlying Juniper Event Manager MIB for the objects/groups whose support it declares. It is used only by management systems performing capability negotiation against a Juniper E-series agent, not for direct operational monitoring. Engineers can download the Juniper-Event-Manager-CONF file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Juniper-Event-Manager-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Juniper E-Series router (Event Manager/scripting feature)

Monitoring Examples

This module is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance statement with no runtime data objects, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; it only declares which Event Manager MIB objects and groups the Juniper E-series agent implements.
