All MIBs › ASCEND-MIBTRANSACTION-MIB
Category: Device Management, Vendor: Ascend/Lucent
Description: Manages configuration transaction commit, rollback, and history on Ascend access equipment.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ASCEND-MIBTRANSACTION-MIB?
This is a proprietary Ascend Communications MIB managing configuration transaction commit, rollback, and history on Ascend access equipment. It exposes objects representing the state of pending configuration changes, allowing an operator to commit or roll back a batch of changes atomically, plus a history of past transactions. It is a software/configuration-management MIB rather than a hardware-monitoring one, but it is valuable for monitoring the software configuration status of the device — confirming whether a change was successfully committed or is still pending/uncommitted. It has no dependency on other standard MIBs, being an Ascend-specific configuration-management extension. It is deployed across the Ascend WAN/dial access product line wherever administrators manage configuration through SNMP-driven transactional changes, typically after an ASCEND-MIBTRANSACTION-MIB download from a vendor or community MIB archive is loaded into their management tools.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ASCEND-MIBTRANSACTION-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ascend WAN/dial access equipment
Monitoring Examples
No sample objects were captured, so exact names are unconfirmed, but a transaction MIB of this kind typically exposes scalar objects (an ascendTransaction* naming pattern) for transaction state, plus a history table of past commits/rollbacks. An administrator would check the transaction status after pushing a configuration change via SNMP to confirm it committed successfully rather than being left in a pending or failed state.
What Can Be Monitored
- pending transaction state
- commit/rollback status
- transaction history
