Category: VLAN and Bridging, Vendor: Aruba

Description: Provides enhanced Virtual Switching Framework v2 stack management and member monitoring for Aruba CX.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ARUBAWIRED-VSFv2-MIB?

ARUBAWIRED-VSFv2-MIB is an HPE/Aruba Networking proprietary MIB managing VSF (Virtual Switching Framework), which stacks multiple physical switches into one logical switch, on Aruba wired switches. Its objects cover a trap-enable flag, split-detection configuration, overall operational status, topology, stack MAC address, domain ID, and a secondary-member indicator, a per-member table (role, status, part number, MAC address, product name, serial number, boot image, CPU/memory utilization, boot time, boot-ROM version, total memory, current usage), and a link table. As a hardware/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm each VSF stack member's role and resource utilization, and detect a stack split. It is deployed on HPE/Aruba wired switches using Virtual Switching Framework. Engineers can download the ARUBAWIRED-VSFv2-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ARUBAWIRED-VSFv2-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • HPE/Aruba wired switches (Virtual Switching Framework)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks arubaWiredVsfv2MemberRole and MemberStatus across all units to confirm the VSF stack's member roles and health before performing maintenance on one unit.

What Can Be Monitored
