Description: Provides system identity, software version, and hardware inventory for Aruba CX switches.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ARUBAWIRED-SYSTEMINFO-MIB?
ARUBAWIRED-SYSTEMINFO-MIB is an HPE proprietary MIB providing system identity, software version, and hardware/resource inventory for Aruba CX switches. It exposes per-module type and name information along with CPU and memory utilization percentages, plus storage usage broken out across logs, core dumps, security data, and self-test partitions. This is a core hardware-and-software status MIB: it directly reports CPU load and memory utilization, classic indicators of an overloaded or misbehaving device, and disk-like storage consumption that can flag runaway logging or crash-dump accumulation before it fills the flash and destabilizes the switch. It complements other ArubaOS-CX MIBs such as the fan tray MIB to build a full chassis health picture, and likely follows standard SNMPv2-SMI table conventions. It is deployed on Aruba CX switches across enterprise and campus networks, polled continuously by monitoring platforms for capacity and health dashboards. Engineers can download the ARUBAWIRED-SYSTEMINFO-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ARUBAWIRED-SYSTEMINFO-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Aruba CX series wired switches
- ArubaOS-CX network switches
Monitoring Examples
An admin walks arubaWiredSystemInfoTable/arubaWiredSystemInfoEntry indexed by arubaWiredSystemInfoModuleType and arubaWiredSystemInfoModuleName to pull arubaWiredSystemInfoCpu and arubaWiredSystemInfoMemory for each module, such as the management engine. Sustained high arubaWiredSystemInfoCpu combined with growing arubaWiredSystemInfoStorageLog or arubaWiredSystemInfoStorageCoredump usage points to a software fault generating excessive logs or crash dumps that could eventually exhaust flash storage. Checking arubaWiredSystemInfoStorageSelftest confirms the self-test partition still has enough free space for diagnostics to run.
What Can Be Monitored
- CPU utilization per module
- memory utilization per module
- log storage usage
- core dump storage usage
- security/self-test partition storage
- hardware module type/name inventory
