Description: Aruba wired switch ArubaOS-CX interface statistics and operational state management.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ARUBAWIRED-INTERFACE-MIB?

ARUBAWIRED-INTERFACE-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Aruba (HPE) for wired ArubaOS-CX switches, describing settings and properties applicable to network interfaces on the switch. It is intended to expose interface-level configuration and operational-state data complementing the standard IF-MIB, such as interface settings groupings referenced by arubaWiredInterfaceSettings. Its monitoring focus is on interface operational status and configuration consistency — verifying that ports are configured and operating as expected, which is foundational to detecting link flaps, speed/duplex mismatches, or misconfigurations on switch ports. It depends on and complements the standard IF-MIB (RFC 2863) interface model that ArubaOS-CX switches also implement. It is deployed on Aruba CX-series wired switches in enterprise campus and data-center network environments. Engineers can download the ARUBAWIRED-INTERFACE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ARUBAWIRED-INTERFACE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Aruba CX-series wired switch

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll arubaWiredInterfaceSettings alongside the standard ifTable/ifXTable entries for the same interface index to correlate Aruba-specific interface settings with generic IF-MIB operational status (ifOperStatus, ifSpeed). A discrepancy between configured interface settings and the interface's actual operational state would flag a misconfiguration, such as an interface administratively enabled but not passing traffic. This combined view helps troubleshoot port-level connectivity issues on ArubaOS-CX switches.

What Can Be Monitored

  • interface configuration settings
  • interface operational state (via associated IF-MIB objects)
