What Is ARUBA-MIB?

This is the top-level Aruba Networks enterprise MIB establishing the OID namespace for Aruba's wireless LAN controller and switch product lines, including product identifiers such as a5000. It primarily organizes the enterprise OID tree (aruba, products, arubaMgmt, switchProducts) under which Aruba's more detailed AP, wireless client, and RF management MIBs are structured, rather than exposing extensive monitorable data itself. Where detailed monitoring occurs, it is via the dependent Aruba MIBs it roots, which cover AP status, wireless client associations, RF channel/interference conditions, controller CPU/memory load, and system uptime. It is the foundational/parent MIB for the broader family of ARUBA-* enterprise MIBs and must be loaded for those to resolve their OID hierarchy, making it one of the first aruba mibs any management platform needs to import. It's typically deployed wherever Aruba Networks wireless controllers and access points are managed via SNMP in enterprise WLAN deployments.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ARUBA-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples

An SNMP management platform loads ARUBA-MIB first so that product-identifying OIDs like a5000 under arubaMgmt/switchProducts resolve to the correct Aruba controller model when polling device inventory. Detailed monitoring of AP status, client counts, or RF conditions would then be performed via the dependent Aruba MIBs rooted at arubaEnterpriseMibModules rather than through this base MIB directly.
