Description: Alvarion wireless device license MIB for managing software feature licenses and subscription entitlement status.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ALVARION-LICENSE-MIB?
ALVARION-LICENSE-MIB is an Alvarion enterprise MIB that manages software feature licensing on Alvarion wireless broadband access devices, tracking which licensed features are enabled and their subscription/expiration status. It exposes a table of licensable features along with their state, expiration date, and remaining validity period, giving visibility into the software entitlement layer of the device rather than physical hardware sensors. Its role in monitoring is chiefly a software-status one: coLicenseFeatureState and coLicenseFeatureRemainingDays let an operator detect when a licensed capability is about to lapse or has already been disabled, which can silently degrade device functionality if unnoticed. It is a self-contained enterprise MIB with the usual SNMPv2 conformance branches and no evident dependency on external standard MIBs. It is typically deployed on Alvarion BreezeACCESS/BreezeMAX wireless base stations and subscriber units where optional features (capacity, security, QoS tiers) are unlocked via license. Engineers can download the ALVARION-LICENSE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ALVARION-LICENSE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Alvarion BreezeACCESS/BreezeMAX wireless base station
- Alvarion subscriber unit
Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll coLicenseFeatureTable/coLicenseFeatureEntry rows, keyed by coLicenseFeatureIndex, reading coLicenseFeatureName alongside coLicenseFeatureState to confirm which features are currently active. coLicenseFeatureEndingDate and coLicenseFeatureRemainingDays would be checked periodically to catch a license nearing expiration before it lapses and disables a feature in production. A feature whose coLicenseFeatureState unexpectedly shows disabled while coLicenseFeatureRemainingDays is still positive would flag a licensing or configuration error worth investigating.
What Can Be Monitored
- licensed feature name
- feature enabled/disabled state
- license expiration date
- days remaining on license
