Description: Alpine Photonics/JDSU combined TDCM and EDFA module MIB for managing integrated dispersion and amplification units.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ALPINE-TDCM-EDFA-MIB?

ALPINE-TDCM-EDFA-MIB is a legacy proprietary MIB (built on ALPINE-ROOT) reporting EDFA (Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier) optical-slot inventory and status on a DWDM transport shelf. Its basic-info table, keyed by slot, records slot type, hardware/firmware version, part/serial number, manufacture date, temperature, and dual optical-power status/values with total power count; a status table records slot status; and an alarm-threshold table records per-slot high/low temperature alarm/warning thresholds. As a hardware-status MIB it lets an administrator confirm optical power and temperature health of an EDFA amplifier slot on this legacy DWDM platform. It is deployed on legacy DWDM transport equipment (EDFA amplifier slots). Engineers can download the ALPINE-TDCM-EDFA-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ALPINE-TDCM-EDFA-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Legacy DWDM transport equipment (EDFA amplifier slots)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks alpineTEBISlotPower1Val and alpineTeatTempHighAlarmThld to confirm optical power and temperature health of an EDFA slot on this legacy DWDM platform.

What Can Be Monitored

  • EDFA optical power and temperature health
