Description: Alcatel OmniSwitch DRC traffic management MIB for dynamic resource and congestion-based traffic shaping policies.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ALCATEL-IND1-DRCTM-MIB?

ALCATEL-IND1-DRCTM-MIB is an Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise proprietary MIB for the OmniSwitch "Birds Of Prey" product line's Task Manager (DRC/TM) subsystem, which centrally tracks the enable/disable status of the switch's IP routing protocols and logging configuration. It exposes scalars indicating the router's primary IP address and router ID, along with per-protocol status flags for RIP, OSPF, BGP, DVMRP, PIM, MSDP, RIPng, OSPFv3, and IS-IS, plus a syslog facility setting for debug/log output. For device status monitoring it lets an administrator quickly confirm which routing protocols are currently enabled on the switch and cross-check that against the intended design, revealing an unexpectedly disabled protocol (e.g., OSPF down when it should be running) that would explain a routing outage. It aggregates status from, and complements, the individual IETF routing MIBs (OSPF-MIB, BGP4-MIB, PIM-MIB, etc.) rather than replacing them. It is typically deployed on Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch core/edge routers running multiple concurrent routing protocols in enterprise or service-provider networks. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the ALCATEL-IND1-DRCTM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ALCATEL-IND1-DRCTM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch (Birds Of Prey product line) router/switch

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll alaDrcTmIPOspfStatus, alaDrcTmIPBgpStatus, and alaDrcTmIPPimStatus to get a quick summary of which routing protocols are currently enabled on the switch, and check alaDrcTmIPRouterId against the expected router ID. If alaDrcTmIPOspfStatus shows disabled while OSPF adjacencies are expected, this MIB would be the first place to spot that the protocol was administratively turned off rather than simply failing to form neighbors.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-protocol routing status (RIP/OSPF/BGP/PIM/IS-IS/etc.)
  • router ID
  • primary router IP address
  • syslog facility for routing debug logs
