Description: Alcatel OmniSwitch SMI base MIB defining the enterprise OID registration tree and root object identifiers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ALCATEL-IND1-BASE?

ALCATEL-IND1-BASE is the foundational SMI module for Alcatel-Lucent's (now Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise) OmniSwitch product line, defining the enterprise-specific OID registration tree under which all other ALCATEL-IND1-* functional MIBs (chassis, VLAN, spanning tree, QoS, etc.) attach their objects. No sample data objects are exposed by this module itself; it is purely structural/registration in nature, with every downstream module's objects rooted under an ALCATEL-IND1-BASE OID node. Consequently it has no direct monitoring role for hardware or software status; that is the job of the numerous ALCATEL-IND1-* MIBs, including chassis/health MIBs covering temperature, power supplies, fans, and CPU, that build on this base. It is a required dependency for virtually every other Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch MIB module. It is deployed with Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise OmniSwitch managed switches in enterprise campus networks.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ALCATEL-IND1-BASE. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise OmniSwitch 6900 — 1RU core/data center switch, current lineup
  • Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise OmniSwitch 9900 — modular chassis core switch, current lineup

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only enterprise OID registration nodes with no runtime tables, scalars, or notifications of its own, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; actual switch health and status data (chassis, environment, VLAN, etc.) is exposed by the other ALCATEL-IND1-* MIBs that register beneath this base tree.
