All MIBs › AGENT-GENERAL-MIB
Organization: D-Link Corp.
Last Updated: 2011-03-02
Category: SNMP Framework
Description: Provides general SNMP agent management objects including agent capabilities, version information, and operational status.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is AGENT-GENERAL-MIB?
AGENT-GENERAL-MIB is a D-Link Corp. proprietary MIB (built on DLINK-ID-REC-MIB) reporting general agent capability and system-resource status. Its objects cover management-protocol capability, a MIB-capability table (index, description, version, type), console-in-use/save-config/file-transfer status flags, 5-second/1-minute/5-minute CPU utilization, dual-image status, a per-port utilization table (TX/RX bytes, utilization percent), and a DRAM utilization table (unit ID, total/used DRAM). As a status/performance MIB it lets an administrator watch CPU/DRAM utilization and per-port traffic load on a D-Link switch. It is deployed on D-Link switching equipment (general agent status). Engineers can download the AGENT-GENERAL-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AGENT-GENERAL-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- D-Link switching equipment (general agent status)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks agentCPUutilizationIn5min and agentDRAMutilizationUsedDRAM to watch resource pressure on a D-Link switch.
What Can Be Monitored
- CPU/DRAM utilization and per-port traffic load
