Category: Vendor: ADTRAN
Description: Manages Basic Rate ISDN (BRI) interfaces on ADTRAN ATLAS multiservice access devices for ISDN connectivity.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ADTRAN-ATLAS-BRI-MIB?
ADTRAN-ATLAS-BRI-MIB is an ADTRAN vendor MIB for the ATLAS multiservice access platform that manages Basic Rate ISDN (BRI) interface modules used for ISDN connectivity. It exposes per-interface configuration and status data, including slot/port location, alarm status, and per-channel (B1/B2 bearer channel) status for each BRI port. Its monitoring value centers on interface and channel hardware/line health -- surfacing alarm conditions on a BRI port and the operational status of its individual B-channels to reveal a failed line or a channel stuck out of service. It appears to depend on ADTRAN's broader ATLAS management framework (adtran/adMgmt branch) rather than a standard ISDN MIB. It is deployed on ADTRAN ATLAS multiservice access devices used to provide BRI ISDN service at customer or network access sites, where administrators can download the ADTRAN-ATLAS-BRI-MIB file to load into their monitoring tools.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ADTRAN-ATLAS-BRI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ADTRAN ATLAS multiservice access device (BRI ISDN module)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll adATLASBRIIfTable, indexed by adATLASBRIIfIndex, to see the adATLASBRIIfSlotNum/adATLASBRIIfPortNum location and adATLASBRIIfAlarmStatus of each BRI interface on the ATLAS chassis. A non-zero adATLASBRIIfAlarmStatus would indicate a line problem needing attention, such as a disconnected NT1 or loss of framing. adATLASBRIIfChanStatTable, indexed alongside the interface, then exposes adATLASBRIIfChanStatB1/adATLASBRIIfChanStatB2 per-channel status, revealing whether an individual B-channel is in active use or has failed independently of the rest of the interface.
What Can Be Monitored
- BRI interface count
- interface slot/port location
- interface alarm status
- B1/B2 bearer channel status
