Description: Duration of loss-of-frame (LOF). Counter #7 of the ATM core.
What is adnsonetSectionLOF?
ADN-MIB::adnsonetSectionLOF measures how long (in counter units) loss-of-frame (the signal is present but no valid SONET frame structure is detected) has been occurring. Engineers check this to differentiate between a dead link (LOS) and a link with signal but corrupted framing, which requires different fixes. A non-zero counter suggests the far-end framer is out of sync or sending invalid data, and a reset/restart of the remote device may be needed.
