Description: Duration of remote defect indication (RDI) received from the remote equipment at path level. For Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH), this signal is known as a path Far End Receive Failure (FERF) event. Counter #10 of the ATM core.
What is adnsonetPathRcvRDI?
This OID stores a counter measuring the duration of remote defect indication (RDI or path FERF for SDH) messages received from the far-end equipment at the path level. Engineers monitor this to determine whether the remote device's path is experiencing transmission problems and signaling them back to your equipment. A non-zero value indicates the far end has detected a path-level defect and is requesting your attention to investigate the remote side's transmission quality.
