What is adnsonetPathLOP?
This OID stores a counter measuring the duration of loss-of-pointer (LOP) errors, which occur when the device cannot locate the beginning of the path payload in the SONET/SDH signal. Engineers monitor this to detect frame synchronization problems that cause the device to lose track of where data boundaries are. An increasing counter indicates the signal is corrupted or misconfigured, causing the receiver to repeatedly lose sync and need to resynchronize.
