What is adnsonetPathBIP8?
This OID stores a counter of 8-bit interleaved parity (BIP-8) errors detected on the SONET/SDH path, measuring transmission integrity at the path overhead level. Engineers monitor this counter to assess path signal quality and detect bit corruption in the path overhead bytes. A rising counter indicates transmission quality problems on the path, which may be caused by equipment malfunction, signal degradation, or configuration mismatch.
