Description: Duration of remote defect indication (RDI) received from the remote equipement. For a Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) line, the RDI signal is known as Multiplexing Section Far End Receive Failure (MS-FERF). Counter #3 of the ATM core.
What is adnsonetLineRcvRDI?
This OID stores a counter measuring the duration of remote defect indication (RDI or FERF for SDH) messages received from the far-end equipment on the SONET/SDH line. Engineers monitor this to determine whether the remote device is experiencing transmission problems and signaling them back to your equipment. A non-zero value means the far end has detected a defect and is telling you about it, which typically requires checking the remote device's line status and link quality.
