adnsonetLineHWStatus
Module: ADN-MIB
OID (symbolic): ADN-MIB::adnsonetLineHWStatus
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.637.3.1.4.10.39.5.1.1.1.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-only
Description: This variable indicates the hardware status of a line. The given status value corresponds to the last test initiated by setting the nominator ifTestType with adnIfTest- TypeLineHW test identifier. If the result of the test, given by the nominator ifTestResult, is different than 'success' or 'failed', the given status value is not significant. It is a bit map represented as a sum; therefore, it can represent multiple defects simultaneously. The adnsonetLineHWNoDefect bit should be set only if no other bit is set. If the status is not significant, all the bits are reset.
The bit positions are : (BBTS1C board): 1 adnsonetLineHWNoDefect 2 not used 4 not used 8 PM5357 chip failure at line side 16 applique failure
(BBS1B, BBS1B3, BBS1B2, or BBS1B4 boards): 1 adnsonetLineHWNoDefect 2 BGPHT chip failure 4 BGS1B chip failure at ET side 8 BGS1B chip failure at line side 16 applique failure
(BBS4B, or BBS4B2 boards): 1 adnsonetLineHWNoDefect 2 BGPHT chip failure 4 not used 8 PM5355 chip failure at line side 16 applique failure
What is adnsonetLineHWStatus?
This integer holds the result of the last hardware self-test performed on the SONET line, where values indicate pass, fail, or in-progress states. A network technician checks this when troubleshooting — if it shows failure, the hardware itself (not the link) is broken. For example, a value of 0 might mean 'pass' or 1 might mean 'failed,' depending on the device vendor's mapping.
