Description: This object is used by a network operator to enable the capture of configuration management trace information into an ASCII file, which may then be retrieved and analyzed off-line. Setting the value of this object to startTrace causes the HSS to begin saving the detailed trace of the Node Configuration Management Subsystem into the memory of the HSS Control Unit. Setting the value of this object to saveTrace causes the detailed trace of the Node Configuration Management Subsystem to be copied from HSS memory into a file stored on the HSS Control Unit disk, in /hss_pmd/.nmcm_detail_trace. The file is a snapshot of the current trace in memory. Its maximum size is 500,000 bytes. If a previous snapshot already existed in the directory /hss_pmd, then this old file is renamed to /hss_pmd/.old.nmcm_detail_trace. (A third trace file, .auto_nmcm_detail_trace, may also be present in the same directory. This contains a snapshot of the trace in memory that is saved to disk automatically in the event of an internally-detected error condition or version deactivation.) Setting the value of this object to stopTrace causes the HSS to stop saving the detailed trace into memory. NoCommand is the default value of this object, and has no effect on the node.

What is adnUCNodeDebugCommand?

This OID is used to enable or disable detailed logging of configuration management operations, saving trace information to a file for offline analysis. When troubleshooting configuration problems that are hard to diagnose in real-time, a network engineer sets this to capture detailed system behavior for later review. For example, setting this to 'startTrace' causes the device to begin recording every step of the configuration update process to a log file that can be downloaded and analyzed.
