Description: Maximum cost of a path to an arbitrary destination node for a type of service and criterion. If the criterion is the number of hops, maximum number of hops. The default value is defined for a criterion equal to the number of hops.
What is adnMaxCost?
This OID sets the maximum acceptable cost (hop count or other metric) for any path between the local node and a destination, filtering out routes that are too expensive. An engineer configures this to prevent the routing algorithm from choosing excessively long paths that would have poor performance. For example, if adnMaxCost is set to 5, no route with more than 5 hops will be considered, even if longer paths exist as alternatives.
