What is adnIsomTrapifIndex?
This OID identifies the interface index of the specific line or circuit that carries SNMP trap messages (alarms and notifications) to the NMS. An engineer configures this to route critical alerts through a reliable, out-of-band path to ensure the NMS always receives alarms. For instance, if traps use ifIndex 1 (a dedicated management connection), the engineer ensures that line has the highest availability priority.
