Description: The counter associated with the number of Tail Packet Discard (TPD) activations on low priority outpur buffer; counter #5 of the ATM core; this counter is not relevant for HSC boards without a low priority output buffer, for the BBE1B boards, the BBT1B boards, the BBTP3C boards and for the BBTS1C boards.
What is adnHscBoardTrMgtLOBTPDCounter?
This counter records how many times Tail Packet Discard (TPD) has been triggered on the low-priority buffer, meaning entire packets destined for low-priority queues have been dropped. Network engineers use this metric to assess the frequency of packet loss on low-priority traffic, which helps justify upgrading board capacity or implementing traffic engineering controls. A value of 245 means 245 complete packets destined for low-priority queues have been discarded due to buffer overflow.
