Module: ADN-MIB

OID (symbolic): ADN-MIB::adnHscBoardTrMgtHOBEFCIOnTh

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.637.3.1.5.15.25.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This indicates the Explicit Forward Congestion Indication (EFCI) activation threshold in high priority output buffer (OB); EFCI is generated towards the receiver termination point, in order to prevent congestion situation to be encountered within the output buffer; EFCI tagging is activated as soon as the activation threshold is reached; EFCI tagging is stopped as soon as the filling of the OB is below the EFCI desactivation threshold; due to BGTOB chip constraint, the value of the threshold is adnHscBoardTrMgtHOBSize (cells); this is only relevant for HSC board with a high priority output buffer.

What is adnHscBoardTrMgtHOBEFCIOnTh?

This integer threshold (in cells) triggers Explicit Forward Congestion Indication (EFCI) for high-priority traffic, signaling upstream devices to reduce transmission rate. Network engineers use EFCI to provide early warning of congestion, allowing sources to slow down before buffer overflow causes cell loss. For example, a value of 100 means send congestion notifications when the high-priority buffer reaches 100 cells.
