Description: This is the ifIndex of the interface on the node at the remote end of the VC. Together the objects adnFrVCRemNodeID, ifIndex, adnFrVCRemoteifindex, frPVCEndptDLCIIndex, adnFrVCRemDlci, and adnFrVCUniqueConnID uniquely identify VCs for accounting and statistics purposes.
What is adnFrVCRemoteifindex?
This OID stores the interface number on the remote equipment where the far end of the virtual circuit terminates, allowing the engineer to cross-reference circuits between the local and remote sides. Network engineers combine this with local interface information and DLCI numbers to uniquely track a circuit across the network for troubleshooting and billing purposes. For example, if the local side shows ifIndex 5 and remote ifIndex 3, the engineer can contact the remote site and say 'check interface 3' when jointly investigating circuit problems.
