Description: The segmentation process of every frame for the frame relay logical line generates ATM cells. This variable defines how the explicit forward congestion indication (EFCI) bit for each of those cells is initialized. The names of the valid values are borrowed from the Frame Relay Forum implementation agreement concerning FR/ATM service interworking (FRF.8):
- mode1 : The FECN bit in the Q.922 core frame is copied to the EFCI bit. - mode2 : Every ATM cell's EFCI bit is set to zero.

What is adnFrAtmSerIWInitEFCI?
This OID controls how the Explicit Forward Congestion Indication (EFCI) bit is set in ATM cells generated from frame relay frames at the segmentation boundary. Network engineers configure this when setting up frame relay to ATM service interworking to ensure congestion signals are properly forwarded. For example, mode1 maps the Frame Relay FECN bit to the ATM EFCI bit so receiving devices know the path is congested.
