Module: ADN-MIB
OID (symbolic): ADN-MIB::adnFRAIWConfInitCLP
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.637.3.1.5.17.1.1.6
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-only
Description: The segmentation process of every frame for the frame relay logical line generates ATM cells. This variable defines how the cell loss priority (CLP) bit for each of those cells is initialized. The names of the valid values are borrowed from the Frame Relay Forum implementation agreements concerning FR/ATM interworking (FRF.5 and FRF.8):
- mode1 : The discard eligibility bit in the Q.922 core frame is copied to the CLP bit. - mode20 : Every ATM cell's CLP bit is set to zero. This mode is the only one allowed if the FR logical line is bearing a FRANP trunk or an ISS connection. - mode21 : Every ATM cell's CLP bit is set to one. This mode is the only one allowed if the FR logical line is bearing an IP forwarding connection.
Common Name: Cell Loss Priority Bit
What is adnFRAIWConfInitCLP?
This read-only setting defines how the Cell Loss Priority bit in outgoing ATM cells is initialized for each frame being segmented, following Frame Relay Forum recommendations (FRF.5/FRF.8). Network operators configure this to map frame-relay discard eligibility to ATM priority, ensuring low-priority frames are dropped first during congestion. For example, a value of 'mode1' means the FR frame's DE bit directly maps to ATM's CLP bit.
