Module: ADN-MIB

OID (symbolic): ADN-MIB::adnEquipSwitchbackOptions

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The adnEquipSwitchbackOptions object provides the options in effect for the next switchback to primary. It is only significant for primary equipment and if the adnEquipSwitchoverOptions object is different from 'noSwitch'.

other : used for configuration purpose when adnEquipSwitchoverOptions value is 'noSwitch', also used for Control Unit and BBSYN card. coldManual : used for primary MSC, CIG and BBASE card. coldSemiautomatic : used for primary MSC, CIG and BBASE card.

The switchback is cold when the software is not already loaded onto the card; it is the case for MSC coupler, CIG and BBASE card.

With the manual option, the switchback is performed only on operator request. With the semi-automatic option, the switchover is performed on HSS supervision software request when the spare card is failed, or on operator request.

What is adnEquipSwitchbackOptions?

This read-write bitmap controls how equipment switches back from spare to primary after a failover incident resolves. Operations teams configure this to decide whether switchback happens automatically (immediate when primary recovers) or manually (requires operator approval). A value of 'coldManual' means primary equipment will not automatically reclaim control; an operator must manually authorize the switchback.
