This counter tracks the number of controlled slip seconds (CSS) the far-end equipment detected on the DS1 interface during the current day, where the device had to intentionally drop or repeat data to recover timing synchronization. Slips happen when clock signals drift between line endpoints, and while the equipment can recover, data is lost or duplicated in the process. A high CSS count suggests timing issues between your location and the remote site.
