Description: The system clock source is typically derived from the line(1). In a network with no other suitable clock source, one HSS can be designated as the clock source for the entire network. That HSS would be configured as internal(2) for its primary and backup. All other HSS in the network would still use the value line(1).
What is adnClockSource?
ADN-MIB::adnClockSource is a read-only INTEGER that indicates whether the system is deriving its clock from a network line or from an internal reference oscillator. Engineers set this to designate a specific HSS as the network's master clock source; all other nodes would use line(1) to receive timing from that master. For example, if set to internal(2), this HSS provides its own independent timing reference that the network can synchronize to.
