adnChassisMidplaneClockStatus

Module: ADN-MIB

OID (symbolic): ADN-MIB::adnChassisMidplaneClockStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.637.3.1.5.15.1.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This object provides the status of the reference clocks on the chassis midplane. It is a bit map and a set bit indicates clock presence.

The bit positions refer to the following clock references: 1 - primary 8 kHz MSC (Medium Speed Coupler) - (H80B) 2 - backup 8 kHz MSC - (H81B) 4 - primary SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) 8 - backup SDH 16 - primary PDH (Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy) 32 - backup PDH In a multi-chassis system, a value of 0 indicates that all clock references are down. In a single-chassis system, the value of this object is 0.

What is adnChassisMidplaneClockStatus?

This OID contains a bitmap showing which reference clocks (8 kHz MSC, SDH, PDH) are physically present on the chassis's internal clock distribution board. Engineers use this to verify all timing references are installed and working—missing clocks can cause synchronization failures across the entire system. For example, a value of 7 means bits 0, 1, and 2 are set, indicating that primary 8 kHz MSC, backup 8 kHz MSC, and primary SDH clocks are all detected.
