Description: Whether packet discard option is enabled, in the receiving direction, of this Virtual Path Link (VPL). When this option is enabled all the low priority cells in the remaining of an ATM Adaptation Layer (AAL) 5 frame are discarded, as soon as one of the cell of the frame has been discarded.
What is adnAtmVplRcvPacketDiscard?
This OID indicates whether incomplete AAL 5 frames with dropped cells are discarded entirely in the receive direction rather than delivered to applications with errors. Engineers enable packet discard to prevent applications from processing corrupted frames and reduce retransmission overhead. For example, with packet discard "enabled", if a cell is lost arriving on this link, the entire AAL 5 frame is discarded to prevent data corruption.
