Description: The status of the policing function applied, in the receiving direction, of this Virtual Path Link (VPL).
What is adnAtmVplPolicing?
This OID indicates whether traffic policing is actively enabled on this virtual path link to enforce conformance to the agreed service level. Network engineers enable policing to prevent misbehaving traffic sources from overwhelming the link and degrading service for other customers. For example, policing set to "enabled" means any traffic exceeding the contracted rate gets marked or discarded, protecting the network.
