This OID sets the maximum number of switched (on-demand, temporary) Virtual Channel Connections that can be created on this Virtual Path. Engineers configure this to reserve capacity for dynamic connections while ensuring permanent connections aren't starved for resources. For example, a value of 32 allows 32 temporary switched connections to be established at any given time.
