This OID sets the maximum number of permanent (always-active) Virtual Channel Connections that can be established on this Virtual Path. Engineers configure this to reserve capacity for mission-critical connections while allowing some channels to be switched dynamically. For example, setting this to 32 means 32 permanent connections can be configured, with the remaining capacity available for temporary connections.
