Description: Whether packet discard option is enabled, in the transmit direction, of this Virtual Channel Link (VCL). When this option is enabled all the low priority cells in the remaining of an ATM Adaptation Layer (AAL) 5 frame are discarded, as soon as one of the cell of the frame has been discarded.
What is adnAtmVclTrmPacketDiscard?
This OID controls whether packet discard is enabled in the transmit direction, causing all remaining low-priority cells in an ATM Adaptation Layer 5 (AAL5) frame to be dropped once one cell is already discarded. Engineers use this to prevent partial frame corruption and improve retransmission efficiency by discarding entire frames early. For example, with this set to 'enabled', if congestion causes one cell to be dropped, the entire remaining frame is discarded rather than sending incomplete data.
