Description: Whether packet discard option is enabled, in the receiving direction, of this Virtual Channel Link (VCL). When this option is enabled all the low priority cells in the remaining of an ATM Adaptation Layer (AAL) 5 frame are discarded, as soon as one of the cell of the frame has been discarded.
What is adnAtmVclRcvPacketDiscard?
This OID controls whether packet discard is enabled in the receiving direction, causing the remaining low-priority cells of an AAL5 frame to be discarded once congestion drops one cell. Engineers use this feature to improve efficiency by avoiding transmission of incomplete or corrupted frames up to the application layer. For example, with this set to 'enabled', when a single cell is lost due to network congestion, the entire incoming frame is dropped to signal a clean retransmission.
