This read-only identifier tells you which network node (switch or router) is responsible for terminating this connection at the remote User Network Interface. You consult this when you need to know which physical device on the far end is managing this connection. For example, if the remote node ID is 'Switch-B-Core-01', you know that device is the termination point on the remote side.
