Description: The length (in seconds) of the timer started upon receipt of a Signalling ATM Adaptation Layer (SAAL) disconnection indication. The timer is stopped upon receipt of a SAAL reconnection indication. If the timer expires, all connections carried by the faulty SAAL connection are released.
What is adnAtmSigT309?
This OID specifies the timeout (in seconds) after the underlying ATM signaling layer (SAAL) fails until all active calls on that link are forcibly dropped. Network engineers need this to prevent orphaned calls from consuming resources after a signaling layer failure; if the SAAL recovers quickly, calls survive, otherwise they're cleaned up. Example: 5 seconds means if the signaling layer goes down, wait 5 seconds for it to recover before tearing down all active calls on that link.
