Description: The maximum filling rate on this ATM interface. This value is the percentage of data that can be loaded on the line. For example, if the ifspeed is 100000 Mbits and the maximum filling rate is 80%, the total bandwidth allowed on the line is 80000 Mbits. When the maximum filling rate is reached, no more calls are accepted on the ATM interface. Common Name: Filling Rate (%)
What is adnAtmInterfaceMaxFillingRate?
This percentage (0-100) sets the maximum fraction of the line bandwidth that can be used by ATM traffic, preventing overload. An operator adjusts this when adding more customers to prevent congestion — if the line is 100Mbps and max filling rate is 80%, only 80Mbps is available for calls. Setting this to 75 on a 10Gbps link reserves 2.5Gbps for overhead and other protocols.
