This OID specifies the number of Virtual Path Identifier bits actively used when the interface operates in Virtual Path switch mode, determining how many different VPI values are possible. Engineers use this to understand the addressing capacity and how many VPs can theoretically exist on the interface. For example, a value of 12 means 2^12 = 4,096 different VPI values are available in VP mode.
