Description: The counter associated with the number of low priority cells lost due to Selective Cell Discard (SCD); counter #26 of the ATM core; this counter is only relevant for the matrix board.
What is adnAtmBoardErHMPLLPCCounter?
This counter tracks the number of low-priority ATM cells the switch has deliberately discarded using Selective Cell Discard (SCD) to prevent buffer overflow. Network engineers care because this shows when the switch is congested enough to sacrifice non-critical traffic to protect high-priority flows. If this counter is 100, the board has dropped 100 low-priority cells during congestion events.
