What is adnAseBoardTrMgtObs1Counter?
This counter tracks the total number of ATM cells received by the core after the first observation threshold (a congestion warning level) has been crossed. Network engineers use this metric to detect early signs of congestion—when this counter starts climbing, it signals that the link is approaching saturation before actual cell loss occurs, allowing time to take corrective action. If the first observation counter reaches 1 million cells over an hour while the OVFL counter remains low, traffic is approaching the threshold but the system is still handling it gracefully.
