Description: The counter associated with the number of cells received on non active internal channel identifier (ICI); counter #25 of the ATM core this counter is not relevant for the HBCEx boards.
What is adnAeiPortErNICICounter?
This counter increments when cells arrive on an Internal Channel Identifier (ICI) that is not currently active, indicating a routing or configuration problem. A network engineer would investigate this to ensure cell traffic is being routed to the correct active channels, as cells on inactive channels are lost. A value of 20 means 20 cells were misrouted to inactive channels and had to be discarded.
