Category: Vendor: ACC/Ericsson

Description: Manages calling number identification and screening on ACC/Ericsson access routers, controlling call acceptance based on originating number.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ACC-CALLINGNUMBER?

ACC-CALLINGNUMBER is an enterprise MIB for ACC/Ericsson access routers that manages calling-number identification and screening for dial-up or ISDN call acceptance. It exposes configuration objects that let the router accept or reject incoming calls based on the calling party's number, functioning as a security/access-control feature rather than a performance-counter set. From a monitoring perspective it is used to confirm that the calling-number screening feature and its number lists are configured and active as intended, effectively checking the status of a security-related software feature on the device. It is tied conceptually to the router's dial/ISDN call-control subsystem rather than to other standard SNMP MIBs. Typical deployment is on ACC/Ericsson routers providing dial-backup or ISDN access where call screening is used to block unauthorized incoming connections. Engineers can download the ACC-CALLINGNUMBER file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ACC-CALLINGNUMBER. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ACC/Ericsson dial-up/ISDN access router

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were provided; based on the description, the module would expose a table of accepted/rejected calling numbers and a screening enable/disable flag. An administrator would poll the screening status object to confirm the feature remains enabled after a configuration change, catching a case where screening was inadvertently turned off and unauthorized numbers could connect.

What Can Be Monitored
