All MIBsACC-PING

Category: IP and Core Protocols, Vendor: ACC/Ericsson

Description: Manages ICMP echo (ping) test operations on ACC/Ericsson routers, providing remote diagnostic capability for testing IP connectivity via SNMP.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ACC-PING?

ACC-PING is an enterprise MIB for ACC/Ericsson routers that lets an SNMP manager trigger ICMP echo (ping) tests from the router itself and retrieve the results, providing a remote connectivity-diagnostic tool. It exposes control objects to configure and start a ping test (target address, count, size) and result objects reporting round-trip time, packet loss, and completion status. For monitoring, it is used to actively verify IP reachability from the router's perspective, a software-level diagnostic complementing passive interface and uptime monitoring, useful for confirming a remote host or next-hop is actually reachable rather than just assuming from interface state. It has no strong dependency on other MIBs beyond basic SNMP conventions, being a self-contained diagnostic extension. It is deployed on ACC/Ericsson WAN routers where operators need on-demand, router-initiated connectivity tests without shell access to the device. Engineers can download the ACC-PING file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ACC-PING. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ACC/Ericsson WAN router

Monitoring Examples

No object list was provided for this module; based on its description, it would expose a ping-test control table (target address, packet count/size, start trigger) and a corresponding results table (round-trip time, loss count, status). An administrator troubleshooting a remote-site outage would set the target address and start a test, then poll the results objects to see whether packets were lost or replies were delayed, distinguishing a routing problem from a genuinely down remote host.

What Can Be Monitored

  • ping test round-trip time
  • packet loss count
  • test completion status
  • ping target reachability
