All MIBs › ACC-ALARMS
Category: Alarm and Event Management, Device Management, Vendor: ACC/Ericsson
Description: Manages alarm monitoring and notification on ACC/Ericsson router/access equipment, providing alarm table entries and trap-based fault reporting.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ACC-ALARMS?
ACC-ALARMS is an enterprise MIB from ACC, later part of Ericsson, for alarm monitoring and fault notification on ACC access/routing equipment. It exposes an alarm table (accAlarms) recording active fault conditions on the device, along with SNMP traps notifying a management station when new alarms are raised or cleared. This is explicitly a faults/status MIB: it is the primary mechanism for detecting hardware or software problems on the device, such as interface or hardware failures, as soon as they occur rather than waiting on periodic polling. It typically works alongside the other ACC MIBs, such as ACC-FILESYS and ACC-ATMSLV, which report the specific subsystem state details behind a given alarm. It is deployed on ACC/Ericsson dial-access routers and WAN access equipment where prompt fault notification is critical for service continuity. Engineers can download the ACC-ALARMS file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ACC-ALARMS. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ACC/Ericsson access router
- ACC/Ericsson WAN/dial-access equipment
Monitoring Examples
A network management station subscribes to traps generated from the accAlarms table and also periodically polls the table directly to reconcile any missed notifications; a new entry appearing in accAlarms indicates a fault condition, such as an interface or hardware failure, that needs investigation. Because the MIB is alarm-table-centric, the key operational signal is the presence, count, and severity of active entries in accAlarms rather than continuous performance counters.
What Can Be Monitored
- active alarm entries
- alarm severity
- fault/trap notifications
- alarm clear events
